5 New Technology trends in Education in 2018

5 New Technology trends in Education in 2018 The world of education is already being introduced to new technology trends in 2018. As school objectives evolve and technology advances, new teaching methods and EdTech trends emerge each year. Technology in education constantly disrupts and enhances pedagogy. It paves the way for new learning experiences and provides innovative ways to achieve core goals for the next academic year. Here’s the trends in technology and education to look out for in 2018: 1. Cloud-based Technology In 2018, cloud computing will continue to make learning a more streamlined experience. Students will no longer worry about files and documents being lost or deleted, or buying multiple USB flash drives to save their assignments. Essays, content related to projects, schedules and assignments will be shared more easily and securely stored on the cloud, such as Google Docs. With more centralized storage for resources, cloud-based technology will allow educators ...

The First programmer: Augusta Ada Lovelace

Image
Augusta Ada Lovelace  (The First Programmer) Daughter of the Poet Lord Byron Augusta Ada, Countess of  Lovelace (1815-1852), became Charles Babbage's most enthusiastic supporter. She wrote programs, or sequences of instructions, for Babbage's invention, the Analytical Engine and made several innovations that are central to programming today. These included the subroutines, the loop, and the conditional structure. The Subroutines A subroutine is a part of a program that can be used repeatedly. An example of routine is a sequence of instructions that sorts numbers into ascending order. The Loop A loop is a sequence of repeating instructions. A loop works by means of a command that tells the computer to back up to a previous command, as in the following sequence, which loops endlessly, printing numbers from 0 to infinity by increments of 1: 10  LET N = 0 20  PRINT N 30   LET N = N +1 40 GO TO 20 The Conditional Structure A conditio...

what are ethics? what is the role of ethics in our daily life.

Ethics Ethics are the rules we use to determine the right and wrong things to do in our lives. Most ethical beliefs arre learned during childhood and are derived from our family, society and religious tradition. For example many people in our society hold to the belief that telling s lie, stealing, driving under the influence of alcohol, and exhibiting racist behavior are ethically wrong behavior. if we have internalized a code of ethical principles, we grow up intstinctively knowing the right thing to do without consciously reflecting on the ethical basis for our decision. Occasionally, however, situations arise that force us to consciously recall our ethical principles in order to choose the right thing to do. This is often occurs when we are faced with novel or unfamiliar situations. If examining our own ethical guidelines fails to assist us in new situations, we may have to adopt other ethical guidelines or modify our own guidelines in order to arrive at a correct decision. ...

An Introduction to Database, Database Models and Database Management System & Relational DBMS

Image
Databases and Database Management Systems (DBMS) A Database There are many definitions of a database E    An organised collection of related data E    An organised collection of files in a specific subject area A filing cabinet is a database.   An address book or telephone directory is a database.   However, we are concerned with computerised databases, that is files that are stored in an organised way in a computer using a database software application Database Management System (DBMS) Special software for managing a database which allows users to record, store, query, change and update the data stored in the database.   It also allows the data to be manipulated in many ways using queries, forms, reports etc Database Models The database model is to do with how the data is organised and the relationships between different data items in the database.  This is transparent to the user but important for the person who o...

Guidelines and tips that consumer should keep in mind when Shopping Online

Guidelines for Shopping Online When consumers shop on the Internet, they need to be aware that online shopping is quite different from traditional shopping in which people visit stores to find items they want. Traditional shopping allows consumers to examine items carefully from all angles and ask questions of the sales clerk. However, when shopping online consumers purchase items without having the ability to examine them fully. Although online shopping is relatively safe, consumers need to take some precautions. The Old adage, better safe then sorry, is good advice when shopping from an e-tailor. Here is some tips that consumers should keep in mind when shopping online. 1. Buy only at secure sites Secure sites use encryption to scramble credit card information so that no one except that site owner can read it. when consumers enter a secure site, they'll get a pop-up notice in their browser, then an icon of a closed lock will appear at the bottom of the browser. 2. Find...

Advantages and Disadvantages of Database Systems

Advantages and Disadvantages of Database Systems   Advantages A number of advantages of applying database approach in application system are obtained including:   1. Control of data redundancy   The database approach attempts to eliminate the redundancy by integrating the file.   Although the database approach does not eliminate redundancy entirely, it controls the amount of redundancy inherent in the database.   2. Data consistency By eliminating or controlling redundancy, the database approach reduces the risk of inconsistencies occurring.   It ensures all copies of the data are kept consistent.   3. More information from the same amount of data   With the integration of the operated data in the database approach, it may be possible to derive additional information for the same data.   4. Sharing of data   Database belongs to the entire organization and can be shared by all authorized users.   5. Improved da...

''The advantages and disadvantages of living without computer.”

The advantages and disadvantages of living without computer.           Computer is a great invention. It has made a lot of changes in the last few years. Conventionally a computer consists of some form of memory for data storage, at least one element that carries out arithmetic and logic operations, and a sequencing and control element that can change the order of operations based on the information that is stored.           The good thing about that invention is that it helps to get information within few minutes, so you don't have to call or look for a newspaper to learn something. Another, the advantage of using this machine is an easy way of communication, it brings thanks to some programmes like Skype or Gadu-Gadu. We don't have to make a call or send letters to talk with someone, the only condition is that another person has to have this programm.       ...

Comparison of Secondary Storage Devices

Comparison of Secondary Storage Devices Computers have two different types of storage – primary (temporary) storage and secondary (permanent) storage.   There are many different types of secondary storage available on the markets today. Each has a different capacity, a different read rate, and a different cost. Depending what the storage is going to be used for, different ones will best serve the purpose. The advantages and disadvantages of CDs, Floppy disks, Zip disks, Jaz disks, USB storage, peerless, and 5.5 inch floppies. 8” and 5.25” Floppy Disks             Before computers started using permanent hard disks, everything was stored on removable disks. The very first floppy disks were 8”. They were later reduced in size to 5.25”. The earliest 5.25” disk could only hold 360 KB because it only used 40 sectors per side to store data. The 360 KB floppy is now completely obsolete. It has been replaced by the 1.2 MB ...

What is relationship in database ? Types of relationship, cardinality and degree of relationship in database

Image
Relationship Types A Relationship Type defines a relationship set among entities of certain entity types A relationship type is illustrated in an ERD using a diamond symbol. Consider the following diagram that shows two entity types (Department and Instructor) and the concept (a relationship) that instructors work in departments. This relationship involves two entity types and is referred to as a binary relationship.    Below is a ternary relationship (a relationship type involving three entity types).   Relationship types are useful for capturing/expressing certain business rules. Relationship Sets An Relationship Set is a collection of relationships all belonging to one relationship type.   In the set are instances of relationships. For instance, if a relationship type is registration then each enrollment of a student in a course is an instance of registration and appears is in the relationship set.    Relationsh...
